HOUSING
So Jared and I are planning on moving out of Hyde Park (our apartment now) and into something cheaper at the end of the semester. About a month ago, Jared had a friend who was moving out of some cheaper housing and we thought we would be able to move into his apartment. So we put our apartment contract up for sale. Unfortunately nobody called about our apartment and Jared's friend found someone else to move into his. Then we went to the complex where Jared's friend was moving out of, and filled out an application for housing there. That manager also told us of a few people who were moving out at the end of the semester and we would probably be able to move in then. So we ended up not moving then but were filled with hope that we could move in there at the end of July. Then yesterday our apartment manager called to ask if we had a set date of moving so she could maybe help us find someone to take over our contract. Jared told her we were going to move at the end of July. After that conversation, Jared called the other manager of the complex where we wanted to move and asked him when people would be moving out. Well, it turns out that he already filled the apartments where people were moving out at the end of the semester. So now, Jared and I have no place to live at the end of July because apparently we were forgotten about. After Jared told me this, I got online to look at what housing was available that would be cheap and available in July/August. And as it turns out, all the cheap housing is gone so we would have to pay at least $500 for housing, which isn't really cheap for us. Well, I decided to re-post our apartment to see if we had anybody call about it this time. We had 1 person call twice within 3 hours, 3 people call that night, and 3 people send e-mails. I think we'd be able to find someone to take over our contract. But now the only problem is finding a place for us to live. While I was looking at apartments, I did find some cheap housing, but not in Rexburg. It seems if we want cheap housing, we'd have to live in Rigby, Idaho Falls, or St. Anthony. It might work in Rigby because it's between Idaho Falls and Rexburg so it would be a good place if Jared is going to school and has an internship in Idaho Falls. But then we'd be buying much more gas than usual. So maybe the cost wouldn't really be cheaper? Who knows. But we have a 1 1/2 months to find somewhere to live and we just hope and pray we can find something close, nice and cheap!
