Laken
Laken is getting to be a big boy. He finally had his annual check-up. I wish I could remember the stats on him. But I know the height wasn't accurate because he refused to stand against the wall to be measured. His weight was around 34 pounds (I think) but it was the 20th percentile. So he's slowly catching up to other kids.
He still loves the garden and wants to check it daily and pray for it daily.
He enjoys riding his bike (for a short distance). When we go on walks, he'll start out by riding his bike but when we get past the church on the corner, he stops riding it. I think part of it is because he loves to pick up leaves from the ground and he can't do that on his bike.
He is getting braver at swimming/being in a pool. At the beginning of the summer he didn't like to be in deep water even if Jared or I held onto him. But after a few trips to pools, he finally decided wearing arm floaties were ok and the deep water wasn't too bad. We even got him to jump into the pool once or twice.
His favorite ice cream flavors are green mint and chocolate.
He starts preschool in a couple days. (That will requite it's own post.)
He has gotten much better and more creative at making things with his duplo blocks. He takes his time to make everything just right. Usually it is some sort of train creation on wheels.
He's switching super hero allegiance from Spiderman to Batman. He has a new batman shirt that has been worn, washed, worn, and worn.
Carter
Carter is getting to be a boy with quite the personality. He can be a real stinker sometimes and is a tease. He loves to laugh and have a fun time.
He has learned a lot from Laken - from words to phrases to things to do.
He has also gotten braver in the pool and also has decided that wearing arm floaties are ok.
We've started potty-training him and he does fairly well. He knows what it feels like to have to pee and poo it's just a matter of making him relaxed enough on the potty to let it happen.
He still loves to read the nursery rhyme books we have.
He is taking after Laken and starting to enjoy super heros. His current favorite is Spiderman.
He loves to play with Kaliya but doesn't always do so nicely or gently.
He is trying to be independent. He wants to wash himself, put lotion on by himself, get cereal alone, etc. A phrase we hear most from him is "No, I can do it!"
He loves popsicles. Whenever we come in the house, he runs to the freezer and asks to have a popsicle.

Kaliya
Kaliya is such a cute little girl. She really knows how to make people like her. It's so funny to see how she can manipulate already. When she's with us she can be fussy, wants to be held, but doesn't sit still, will squirm and get back down. With other people she'll go right up to them, be picked up, and sit still and content on their lap for a good long while.
She walks all the time now and tries to keep up with her brothers.
She has started communicating with her actions. If she wants something she'll reach out for it and if we pick up the wrong thing and offer it to her she'll shake her head no.
She has a mouth full of teeth. She just got all four canine teeth making a total of 16 teeth!
She loves her blanket.
She knows how to pull caps off markers so we have to keep them away from her.
