November 2015

LEAVES!
November started with leaves on the ground and nice weather. So naturally I raked up the front yard and made a big pile for the kids to play in. They had lots of fun. Laken wanted his own pile so he raked a bunch of leaves over into his own pile. He had a good time digging through the leaves. I'm always impressed/surprised with the things he decides to do. Carter had fun running into the pile. He wasn't a huge fan of covering his face in leaves. Kaliya followed Carter with running in and out of the leaf pile.

MAKAI - 1 MONTH
Makai is such a good baby. He eats really well, sleeps often, and is happy. He doesn't mind being held by Kaliya. He only wakes up twice a night to eat. He sleeps just about anywhere. He LOVES being swaddled.

His favorite way to sleep.

I love that he fell asleep in my lap like this. So tiny and so cute.

KID SHENANIGANS
Miss K is a trouble-maker. She writes on the walls quite often. It doesn't matter how many times we tell her not to, give her time-outs, and take away her writing utensils. So far she has scribbled on the walls with markers and pen. And then one day, she came out of the room with a thing of watercolor paints that she found under Carter's bed. Apparently the paints were still wet so she decided to finger paint on the wall.

We put the bunkbeds back together so the heater in the boys' room isn't covered up. Carter has enjoyed having a bed above his so he can stick his toys and animals in in the boards.

Kaliya LOVES being a big sister. She is always wanting to hold Makai.

FIRST SNOW
We had a decent first snowfall. The kids were so excited for it.
We went to the store before the snow fell and Carter got me to buy little shovels they could use. He was pretty excited about it, especially when it started to snow and he could actually use it.

School let out a couple hours early before the roads got too bad. Laken was pretty happy to come home and play in the snow and use his new shovel. I didn't even have to tell the boys to shovel the porch off!

Playing in the snow the next day with daddy.

CHRISTMAS TREE TIME
We put up the Christmas tree a little early this year so it was semi-festive for our families coming over. The kids were excited to help put the tree up but Kaliya decided it was too poky to continue helping. So the boys helped and Kaliya watched from the couch.

MORE KID SHENANIGANS
Either Carter wasn't feeling well or he was just super tired, but I ended up having two sleeping boys on my lap.

Laken's artwork. Captain America, Hulk, Baby Dog, and a temple out of clay.

Then one day Laken decided to write a book. He did all the pictures and spelling himself. Here's the story:
A car got stuck.
Then master yoda came to the rescue.
Hulk came to rescue.
Then spiderman.
Then batman.

It's not often that Carter asks to hold Makai so when he does, I have to get a picture - even if it means leaving Makai in an uncomfortable position.
And isn't Kaliya just so cute with her yogurt mustache and pigtails?

Grandma bought a playmat for Makai as an early Christmas present.

TREES
We started November with a Thankful tree and ended with a decorated Christmas tree.
The kids' thankful tree. The orange leaves are things Laken is thankful for. The red leaves are things Carter is thankful for and the Yellow are things Kaliya is thankful for. Maybe some point I'll write down what they said this year.

And here's the Christmas tree the kids helped decorate. A lot of the ornaments ended up around the same areas so Jared and I had to redecorate later.

MORE SNOW
Carter and Laken really enjoy playing in the snow. Kaliya, not so much. She thinks she does but after she gets out there, she doesn't last long.
The boys enjoying playing in the snow, Kaliya eating snow, and our snowball Misty who also loves playing in the snow.
